Edmonton & Alberta Art Groups
A sense of community can really help artists grow their career and general interest in illustration and art. In Alberta there are various art groups, clubs, and galleries that encourage communication and collaboration among local artists.
CANSCAIP
CANSCAIP (Canadian Society of Children's Authors, Illustrators and Performers) is a member-supported community of creators for kids and teens, founded in 1977. Members and friends include authors, illustrators, performers, librarians, educators, publishers, journalists—and everyone who loves kids books.
The Advertising Club of Edmonton (ACE)
ACE is a nonprofit oriented towards supporting design and communications professionals in Edmonton. They hold networking events, have an annual awards show, support other groups with volunteers, and have a dedicated job board.

Images Alberta Camera Club
A well-established photography organization based in Edmonton that offers social activities as well as exhibits and promos for both beginner and experienced photographers.

SNAP (Society of Northern Alberta Print Artists)
An Edmonton-based nonprofit that hosts a workspace and gallery and acts as a community hub for print artists. Their Emerging AIR Program also offers emerging artists and recent graduates the opportunity to work rent-free at the SNAP Print Shop for a 6 month term.

Alberta Foundation for the Arts
The Alberta Foundation for the Arts is a public agency and a provincial corporation of the Government of Alberta with a mandate to support and contribute to the development of the arts in Alberta. They provide grant funding to artists and art organizations to encourage the growth and development of the arts sector. They also promote the arts and manage an extensive provincial art collection featuring work from artists all over the province.

Applied Arts
Applied Arts is a Canada-wide organization that hosts contests in Advertising, Design, Photography, Illustration, and Student competitions. They also publish a semi-annual showcase magazine and host news and resources related to creative industries.

Arts Habitat
Arts Habitat is an Edmonton-based organization that collaborates to help cultivate and sustain arts spaces. They offer live/work spaces to eligible artists.
